badminton strings aerobite vs nanogy 99
String-Examination 2020
YONEX Strings
The seven virtually popular YONEX badminton strings in exam - from BG 65 to BG 80, from Aerosonic to Aerobite Boost.
Well-nigh the methodology: In order to be able to concentrate fully on the differences betwixt the strings - just like in the commencement cord examination - all strings were again pulled with identical hardness (xi kg) on identical rackets: the new YONEX acme noise NANOFLARE 800 .
As always at BADLAB, the exam criteria for our 5 testers were not only whatsoever laboratory measurements, but the personal impression of every single string on the racquet. Since we exercise not brand our tests for professional players, but for aggressive recreational players, our testers are a well mixed team of highly ambitious recreational players up to the national league level.
The grapheme of each cord was evaluated according to 8 criteria on a scale from 1 (non applicable) to 5 (fully applicable). And so the maximum score is a fifth, but this time we have refrained from making an "overall score" per string to focus your attention more on the differences between the strings. Subsequently all, in the finish it's all about finding the cord that suits each individual player.
Allow'south start with the hard facts:
YONEX AEROSONIC - 0,61mm rating: | 1 | 2 | three | iv | 5 | Average
one. The string conveys a good feel for the stroke (touch on/feedback) | - | - | - | 1 | 4 | 4,viii
2. The string has good elasticity and damping properties | - | - | - | 3 | two | four,4
3. The string retains its elasticity (trampoline effect) for a very long fourth dimension | - | - | - | 2 | 3 | iv,half-dozen
4. The string supports a practiced length on Clears | - | - | - | 2 | 3 | four,six
v. The cord supports my underhand play (east.g. in defense) | - | - | - | - | 5 | five
six. The string provides adept control during short game (e.chiliad. cut or short crossball at internet) | - | - | - | - | 5 | 5
7. The string offers a rich, controlled power transmission in hard smashes. | - | - | - | iv | 1 | 4,ii
8. The string impresses with a good "sound" | - | - | - | 1 | 4 | 4,eight |
Rating: The YONEX AEROSONIC / 0.61 mm is the only cord to achieve the unanimous elevation score of 5.0 in private categories - with "expert control in short game" and "supports my underhand play". The AEROSONIC also received a meridian score of 4.8 for "good feel", and the thinnest string in the test (0.61 mm) too managed to attain the best score of all strings in the "Audio" category. But this very sparse string also has its limits, namely when information technology comes to power transmission and a rich feel when smashing. For professionals it therefore "only" appears every bit a cantankerous string in the Aerobite and Aerobite Boost hybrid sets.
For all other players who prefer feeling and perfect command in short game, the YONEX AREOSONIC with its incomparable sound is our peak recommendation.
YONEX AEROBITE - 0,67 / 0,61 mm rating: | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | Average
i. The string conveys a skilful feel for the stroke (touch on/feedback) | - | - | 1 | three | one | 4
2. The string has skillful elasticity and damping properties | - | i | - | 2 | two | 4
3. The string retains its elasticity (trampoline issue) for a very long time | - | - | 1 | 2 | 2 | four,2
4. The string supports a good length on Clears | - | - | - | 3 | 2 | 4,four
5. The cord supports my underhand play (due east.chiliad. in defense) | - | - | - | four | ane | 4,two
6. The string provides good control during short game (east.yard. cut or short crossball at net) | - | - | - | 3 | 2 | 4,4
seven. The string offers a rich, controlled power transmission in difficult smashes. | - | - | - | iii | 2 | 4,4
8. The string impresses with a good "audio" | - | - | ii | two | 1 | 3,eight |
Rating: The YONEX AEROBITE 0.67 / 0.61 mm has been the pioneer in hybrid stringing sets since 2016. What has been mutual practice in tennis for years has now been successfully brought to the badminton market past YONEX: two dissimilar strings are pulled lengthwise and crosswise onto the noise. In badminton, the chief aim is to become the badminton into a spin more effectively during the short, cut shots at net.
The coloured longitudinal string of the AEROBITE is a 0.67 mm thick coated PU cord with a very loftier coefficient of friction. The very thin (0.61 mm) cross string is the ultra-thin AEROSONIC cord described above in the exam. In our testers, this string combination also impressed with very proficient values for the length of Clears and the controlled power transmission of hard Smashes. All other evaluations speak for themselves and prove that the first hybrid stringing in badminton is an absolute hit. This is also known among the top players in the world. Currently, YONEX AEROBITE is played, for example, by Kento Momota, Carolina Marin, Lin Dan, Marking Lamsfuss and Viktor Axelsen.
YONEX AEROBITE Boost - 0,72 / 0,61 mm rating: | 1 | 2 | 3 | iv | v | Average
1. The string conveys a practiced feel for the stroke (touch/feedback) | - | - | 2 | 3 | - | 3,6

3. The cord retains its elasticity (trampoline consequence) for a very long time | - | - | three | - | 2 | iii,8
4. The string supports a good length on Clears | - | - | - | two | 3 | four,vi
v. The string supports my underhand play (e.g. in defence) | - | - | 1 | three | one | 4
6. The string provides good control during brusque game (e.g. cut or short crossball at net) | - | - | 2 | 1 | 2 | 4
7. The string offers a rich, controlled power manual in hard smashes. | - | - | 2 | - | 3 | 4,two
eight. The string impresses with a adept "sound" | - | 1 | 2 | 2 | - | 3,2 |
Rating: The YONEX AEROBITE BOOST = 0.72 / 0.61 mm is the 2d hybrid string of this serial. Equally the longitudinal string here, an extra thick fiber wound from Vectran (twice as thick as nylon) was used, which with its diameter of 0.72 mm not only ensures significantly longer durability but also reduces the loss of energy on touch. The cross cord is the ultra-sparse Aerosonic here also. Practical tests accept shown that the YONEX Aerobite Heave with its top value of four.6 is correct at the top in the category "support of a practiced length at Clears". Compared to the normal aerobite, however, our testers could non find whatever other advantages. Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, the No. one in the world-ranking listing in men's doubles, currently plays this cord combination, for example.
.
YONEX BG 80 - 0,68 mm rating: | 1 | 2 | iii | 4 | 5 | Average

5. The cord supports my underhand play (e.g. in defense) | - | - | - | 3 | 2 | 4,four
6. The cord provides skilful control during brusk game (east.k. cut or short crossball at net) | - | - | - | 1 | four | 4,eight
7. The string offers a rich, controlled power transmission in hard smashes. | - | - | - | 2 | 3 | 4,six
8. The string impresses with a adept "sound" | - | - | - | iv | 1 | 4,2 |
Rating: As expected, the YONEX BG 80 / 0.68 mm was disarming in every respect! Almost all ratings have a peak value. It is therefore no wonder that the YONEX BG lxxx is one of the strings most played by professionals. The fact that the cord delivers a good hitting experience is beyond question with our test results. But the real strength lies in the rich, controlled power transmission in hard smashes. On this signal, the BG 80 achieved the maximum value of 4.6 over all strings in the examination (together with the BG 65 Ti).
The Yonex BG eighty is a little rougher than the Yonex BG 65 and therefore assurance can be cut meliorate. However, it is besides rubbed through faster. We recommend this hard summit string preferably for tournament allround players. The Yonex BG lxxx is currently played past world form players such as Kevin S. Sukamuljo, Chou Tien Chen, Lee Yong Dae, Anders Skarup Rasmussen
YONEX NANOGY 95 - 0,69 mm rating: | one | 2 | 3 | iv | 5 | Average

4. The string supports a proficient length on Clears | - | - | 2 | 2 | 1 | 3,8
5. The string supports my underhand play (e.g. in defence force) | - | - | 3 | i | 1 | 3,half dozen
6. The string provides good command during brusk game (e.g. cut or short crossball at internet) | - | - | i | iv | - | 3,8
7. The string offers a rich, controlled ability transmission in hard smashes. | - | - | 1 | four | - | 3,8
8. The cord impresses with a adept "sound" | - | i | 4 | - | - | ii,8 |
Rating: The YONEX NANOGY 95 / 0,69 mm is far above average in all our exam criteria, but the special strength of this string is in our testers' opinion its elasticity and damping backdrop as well as an excellent feel for the hitting. The CS Carbon Nanotube material combines optimum speed, maximum rebound power and excellent durability.
Nosotros recommend this medium hard string to players who focus on speed and durability. No wonder that 1 of the fastest men'due south doubles players, Keigo Sonoda from Japan with world ranking no. 4, plays the YONEX NANOGY 95.
YONEX BG 65 - 70 mm rating: | ane | two | 3 | iv | v | Average
ane. The cord conveys a good feel for the stroke (touch/feedback) | - | ii | ii | 1 | - | ii,8

5. The cord supports my underhand play (e.g. in defence force) | - | 1 | 4 | - | - | 2,8
6. The string provides adept command during short game (eastward.g. cut or short crossball at net) | - | - | v | - | - | 3
vii. The string offers a rich, controlled power transmission in hard smashes. | - | - | 4 | ane | - | 3,two
viii. The string impresses with a expert "sound" | - | - | 1 | 4 | - | ii,8 |
Rating: The YONEX BG 65 / 0.70 mm is one of the most popular standard strings worldwide and a solid all-rounder. This is likewise reflected in the midfield assessment of our testers. The elasticity and damping backdrop are particularly noticeable here. But the biggest advantage of the BG 65 is clearly its durability. From our bespeak of view, this durable string is therefore a summit choice for all those who play with nylon balls. But besides NG Ka Long Angus, currently ranked No. 9 in the men's singles world rankings, prefers the YONEX BG 65.
YONEX BG 65 Ti - 0,70 mm rating: | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | v | Boilerplate
1. The cord conveys a good feel for the stroke (touch/feedback) | - | - | one | 3 | ane | iv

seven. The cord offers a rich, controlled power manual in hard smashes. | - | - | - | ii | iii | 4,half-dozen
eight. The string impresses with a good "sound" | - | - | - | 3 | 2 | 4,iv |
Rating: The YONEX BG 65 Ti / 0.seventy mm cannot be compared with the normal BG 65 due to the shock-arresting Ti(tanium) coating. Our testers felt that immediately. Although the BG 65 Ti also has one of the strongest diameters in the test with 0.lxx mm, it feels much thinner when playing and impresses with a particularly skillful sound. The biggest highlight of this string, however, was found past our testers in the controlled power transmission during hard smashes. Just as with the BG 80, the BG 65 Ti accomplished the best value of 4.6 overall strings in this category. But peak scores were as well determined in all other categories. These advantages of the YONEX BG 65 Ti are also used by world-class players such equally Marcus F. Gideon and Ratchanok Intanon.

Conclusion: Just like in our first string test, the BADLAB Racket Squad was impressed past the extent to which the unlike string diameters and materials shape the character of a badminton racket! Information technology's definitely worth experimenting with different strings (and stringing tensions) instead of but looking for durability - especially if you lot desire to take the qualities of high-end badminton racquets to the limit, and if yous play with real feathers! This often makes fifty-fifty more sense than thinking about a new frame.
About the YONEX strings in the test: The choice of the "correct" string is extremely private. What is my personal playing style? My punching technique? With which racquet must the cord harmonize? We, therefore, recommend that y'all actually look at the tables to a higher place in particular. Even so, three strings stood out especially for our testers:
The YONEX AEROSONIC is our recommendation for sensitive players. For the states it is the upgrade of the thinnest YONEX string Ultimax 66 so far considering although the AEROSONIC is even thinner and more sensitive than this one, information technology is also more than durable.
For the demanding all-rounder, our recommendation is shared past the YONEX BG 80 and the hybrid stringing YONEX AEROBITE. Both combine a very good feel with a maximum of control and are therefore played past a large number of professionals. Which of these two strings suits you ameliorate personally, we recommend to try them out!
A tip in passing: Every string tires in the course of time. Cord your rackets at to the lowest degree once every 3 - 4 months instead of waiting until the string breaks. An elastic string will definitely add to the fun of badminton and improve your game, considering it will provide more power and meliorate feedback! If you want to check the condition of your stringing yourself, we recommend the free stringster app, with which nosotros at the BADLAB dissonance team of course likewise piece of work.
NEWS: Equally the new YONEX SKYARC - 0.69 mm was not yet available for this exam, nosotros tested it separately for you.
